Looking to try your luck at something completly different or just fancy dressing up like Lara Croft or Davy Crockett for the day, then knife throwing is the activity for you. This is another one of those skills that many people tried in their youth and couldnt quite get to grips with. Fortunately its now available

You can now learn to throw using a perfectly designed and balanced knife. This is one activity that is definately not as easy as it looks. The competition starts as we move you further back from the target to achieve 3, 4 or maybe even 5 rotations of the blade.

Knife throwing can be booked on its own, mixed with axes for the great throwing combo, or with any of our shooting or driving activites for a great mix up of event.

Knife Throwing Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum/maximum group size?

We do not have a minimum number but a group of 6 and under, we reserve the right to mix you with another party (up to a group size of 12). Maximum group size is 12 people, if your group size is larger than this you will be split over 2 or more activities or you will be provided with more time.

How long does the session last?

Each activity runs for 1 hour in Oxford. If you just book knife throwing, that will last for one hour. If your group size is over 12 we will either split you into 2 teams or more, or provide more time. In certain circumstances such as a small group where your health and safety could be at risk from over confidence, we may reduce this time. Alternatively if you are acting beyond what Max Events, or our instructors deem safe/acceptable, you will be asked to leave the activity. No refunds will apply for misuse of equipment.

How long will I be on site?

This is dependant on the package booked but we ask that you arrive half hour prior to the start of your activities, and you will need at least 15 minutes from when the activities have finished to getting in your car.

Does knife throwing require a lot of strength to take part?

No the blades are not heavy and its more about technique than strength

Am I insured?

Max Events carries £5 million public liability insurance. This covers us and you in the event of our negligence. You are provided with all instruction necessary to complete the activity safely, if you operate any equipment beyond your ability or the boundaries that we provide you will not be covered, it does not cover you for acts of stupidity or if an incident arises beyond our control.

Can we operate in any weather?

Unfortunately we cannot control the weather. In most cases we work very hard to ensure your event runs smoothly and with the required activities in your booking. If we feel we have a health and safety issue we would try and make contact in the week prior to your arrival and offer some alternative suggestions. In extreme circumstances on the day we may have to offer an alternative activity which carries an equal or greater value.

Can I wear fancy dress?

Yes, if you like the look of Davy Crockett or Wonder Woman, it’s not a problem
