Can you master the ancient skill of Archery and hit the bullseye?

Archery truly is one of England's more noble and ancient sports. It’s a true contest of your mind, control and precision. Whether you think yourself a modern day Robin Hood, or just fancy having a go after Team GB’s success in the 2012 Olympics, Max Events Oxford is the ideal venue to put yourself to the test.

Using lightweight training bows but proper pointy arrows, our experienced instructors are on hand to make sure it’s only the target which gets perforated. We expect this to be a challenge so we don't have the targets too close, but at the same time they won't be 70m away as in the Olympics so we should have you hitting the gold in no time, or at least the red, or the blue!

Archery is a great event for any stag or hen party looking to come to Oxford.

Archery Frequently Asked Questions

Does archery require a lot of strength to take part?
No, we use lightweight training bows with a lower draw rating than competition bows, and more importantly archery is more about technique than pure strength.

What is the minimum/maximum group size?
We do not have a minimum number but a group of 6 and under, we reserve the right to mix you with another party (up to a group size of 12). Maximum group size is 12 people, if your group size is larger than this you will be split over 2 or more tracks or you will be provided with more time.

How long does the session last?

Each activity runs for 1 hour in Bristol. If you just book rebel buggies that will last for one hour. If your group size is over 12 we will either split you into 2 teams or more, or provide more time. In certain circumstances such as a small group where your health and safety could be at risk from over confidence, we may reduce this time. Alternatively if you are acting beyond what Max Events, or our instructors deem safe/acceptable, you will be asked to leave the activity. No refunds will apply for misuse of equipment.

How long will I be on site?
This is dependant on the package booked but we ask that you arrive ½ hour prior to the start of your activities, and you will need at least 15 minutes from when the activities have finished to getting in your car.

Am I insured?
Max Events carries £5 million public liability insurance. This covers us and you in the event of our negligence. You are provided with all instruction necessary to complete the activity safely, if you operate any equipment beyond your ability or the boundaries that we provide you will not be covered, it does not cover you for acts of stupidity or if an incident arises beyond our control.

Can we operate in any weather?
Unfortunately we cannot control the weather. In most cases we work very hard to ensure your event runs smoothly and with the required activities in your booking. If we feel we have a health and safety issue we would try and make contact in the week prior to your arrival and offer some alternative suggestions. In extreme circumstances on the day we may have to offer an alternative activity which carries an equal or greater value.

Can I wear fancy dress?
Yes. Maid Marion costumes are most important.
