Clay pigeon shooting at our Bristol Activity Centre, just minutes from the M5 is a great event for any stag do. Beginner or experienced it doesn't matter, Max Events have the expertise to ensure you learn how to safely dust those clays out of the air.

Our instructors are either BASC safe gun CPSA qualified, or have plenty of experience in the sport. With the standard guns used being 12 gauge under and overs you will be handling the perfect weapon for the modern day shoot. If you are worried about the size of the gun then we also have a 410 which is a bit lighter, ask the team for more details when making the booking.

With options to mix with any number of driving or shooting challenges or as a standalone activity the choices are yours. Depending on the package booked we offer a number of different targets to shoot at and scores will be given so you can guarantee a highly charged and entertaining activity.

FAQ How does the activity run?
You will receive 1 instructor per group size of 12. Each session will include a minimum of 14 shots and will last around 1 hour. You will receive practice and competition shots.

Can I make the session longer or can I have more shots?
The 1 hour time slot is approximate and is dependant on your skill level. To increase the session time will be dependant on how many shots you would like. All you need to decide is how many and we can tailor the activity to your needs. If you are unsure of the best solution please just ask. If you would like to purchase more shots on the day, that maybe possible dependant on availability, please ask.

What is the minimum/maximum group size?

On Saturday we operate a minimum group size of 6. up to a maximum team size of 12 people, if your group size is larger than this you will be split over 2 or more stands or you will be provided with more time. If you have a group of less than 6 people we suggest you call in the week running up to the day you would like to come, as we may have some space we can offer you, in this case we reserve the right to mix you with another party, alternatively you can pay for 6 people.

What day can i book, are you only open at weekends?

Predominately we are open on Saturday for group bookings, but do open during the week. Any booking would be subject to availability and group size. Please call to discuss options.

How long will I be on site?
This is dependant on the activities booked but we ask that you arrive half an hour prior to the start of your activities, and you will need at least 15 minutes from when the activities have finished to getting in your car.

Am I allowed to shoot?
The Firearms act of 1968 states you can shoot under supervision at any age. Under the current law you are allowed to handle a shotgun without a license under supervision from the license holder, as long as you have not received a previous conviction preventing you from doing so.

Minimum age

No license is required and there is no requirment specifically on age. You must however be physically able to hold the gun. For this reason we usggest a minimum age of 16 years,

I am worried I will not be able to lift the gun as I am quite small. Do you have smaller guns?
In Bristol we do operate a range of guns, some lighter than others, however we do not carry them all the time, and they are all 12 Gauge so no massive difference in weight or length. If you are concerned or feel there may be an issue please call.

Am I insured?
Max Events carries £5 million public liability insurance. This covers us and you in the event of our negligence subject to the terms and conditions of the policy. You are provided with all instruction necessary to complete the activity safely, if you choose to ignore our instructions and operate any equipment beyond your ability or the boundaries that we provide then you will not be covered.”

Can we operate in any weather?
Unfortunately we cannot control the weather. In most cases we work very hard to ensure your event runs smoothly and with the required activities in your booking. If we feel we have a health and safety issue we would try and make contact in the week prior to your arrival and offer some alternative suggestions. In extreme circumstances on the day we may have to offer an alternative activity which carries an equal or greater value.

Do you provide any safety equipment?
Yes we provide all necessary safety equipment for each activity, as outlined by our insurance obligations. Ear Defenders are provided and compulsory to protect your hearing.

I have my own gun, can i bring it?
In most instances unfortunatly not.

Can I wear fancy dress?

Yes, so long as it does not have the potential to be caught in any moving parts, does not impair vision, means you are still wearing the correct safety gear.
