Ever fancied yourself as a bit of a sharp shooter? Then test how good your aim really is with our Clay shooting activity in Bournemouth.

Max Events offers a great introduction to clay shooting, with experience on our side we know you want to hit the clay so we don't make it too difficult or technical and we should have you ‘dusting’ the clay in no time. If you have some experience on your side and you're looking for a bit more competition it’s not a problem, we have a range of simulated targets from our automatic traps, all you need to do is book more shots.

Apart from the country gent attire we provide everything you need including a range of guns to suit. Our standard is a modified 3 shot 12 gauge pump action Mossberg shotgun, but we also have a lighter 20 gauge or even a .410 Mossberg if you're feeling a bit competitive.

Clay Shooting Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ How does the activity run?
You will receive 1 instructor per group size of 12. Each session will include a minimum of 14 shots and will last around 1 hour. You will receive practice and competition shots.

Can I make the session longer or can I have more shots?
The 1 hour time slot is approximate and is dependant on your skill level. To increase the session time will be dependant on how many shots you would like. All you need to decide is how many and we can tailor the activity to your needs. If you are unsure of the best solution please just ask.

What is the minimum/maximum group size?
We do not have a minimum group number, but for groups of less than 6 people, we reserve the right to mix you with another party (up to a group size of 12). Maximum group size is 12 people, if your group size is larger than this you will be split over 2 or more stands or you will be provided with more time.

How long will I be on site?
This is dependant on the activities booked but we ask that you arrive half an hour prior to the start of your activities, and you will need at least 15 minutes from when the activities have finished to getting in your car.

Am I allowed to shoot?
The Firearms act of 1968 states you can shoot under supervision at any age. Under the current law you are allowed to handle a shotgun without a license under supervision from the license holder, as long as you have not received a previous conviction preventing you from doing so.

Am I insured?
Max Events carries £5 million public liability insurance. This covers us and you in the event of our negligence subject to the terms and conditions of the policy. You are provided with all instruction necessary to complete the activity safely, if you choose to ignore our instructions and operate any equipment beyond your ability or the boundaries that we provide then you will not be covered.”

Can we operate in any weather?
Unfortunately we cannot control the weather. In most cases we work very hard to ensure your event runs smoothly and with the required activities in your booking. If we feel we have a health and safety issue we would try and make contact in the week prior to your arrival and offer some alternative suggestions. In extreme circumstances on the day we may have to offer an alternative activity which carries an equal or greater value.

Do you provide any safety equipment?
Yes we provide all necessary safety equipment for each activity, as outlined by our insurance obligations. Ear Defenders are provided and compulsory to protect your hearing.

I have my own gun, can i bring it?
No, we have to adhere to strict noise pollution constraints so we use guns with moderators to reduce the noise.

I am worried I will not be able to lift the gun as I am quite small. Do you have smaller guns?
Yes, we have a range of guns including smaller and lighter 20 gauge and 410 shotguns, suitable for smaller/younger shooters.
