“Welcome. You have arrived at the training centre of the British Archaeological Society Headquarters—the centre for challenging minds.”
Step back in time to the era of Howard Carter and the discovery of Tutankhamun’s hidden tomb. The Riddle of the Pyramids is an immersive, high-energy team event designed to transform your workforce into a team of budding archaeological adventurers.
This isn’t just a day out of the office; it is a test of effective leadership, passion, and adaptability. Based at our professional centres in Bristol and Dorset, or brought directly to your chosen venue, this challenge will be the talk of the office for months to come.
Your Objective: Prove your team’s effectiveness in real-world archaeological scenarios.
You will be split into competing teams of explorers. To succeed, you must navigate a series of challenges inspired by actual historical discoveries and the ancient tests used by the Egyptians themselves.
The Jewel System: Each task completed within the timeframe earns your team precious jewels.
Risk vs. Reward: Quick, “low-level” tasks earn smaller rewards. Complex, time-consuming challenges offer the biggest archaeological “payday.”
Transferable Skills: These tasks are designed to strip away your natural environment and force you to apply communication, planning, and teamwork in a brand-new context.
Duration: Half-Day (Standard) or Full-Day (Enhanced)
Whether you have a small executive team or a department of hundreds, our framework scales to fit. We offer a base of 16 unique challenges, which can be expanded to 20 separate tasks depending on your group size, budget, and schedule.
Professional Instruction: Expert hosts and instructors to guide your explorers.
Full Event Management: A seamless, managed experience from arrival to the final count.
The Tools of the Trade: All necessary equipment for both mental and physical tasks.
The Victory: A formal presentation with medals for top individuals and the winning team.
The Riddle of the Pyramids balances “brain vs. brawn.” One moment your team might be deciphering a logic-based “tomb code,” and the next, you could be building a Chariot or practicing your Archery to protect the site.
Strategic Planning: Teams must decide which tasks to prioritize. Do you go for the “quick wins” or tackle the complex riddles for the maximum points?
Creativity Rediscovered: This environment encourages members to step up as leaders and find creative solutions to physical obstacles they won’t find in the boardroom.
While primarily a high-impact half-day event, the Riddle of the Pyramids can be expanded into a Full-Day Country Sports or Driving Event.
Bristol Location: 5 mins from J17 M5.
Dorset Location: 20 mins from Poole/Weymouth, 40 mins from Bournemouth.
Catering: Pair your event with a BBQ or Buffet Lunch to refuel your team of explorers.
We ensure that every team has a dedicated instructor and a fair shot at the prize by scaling our tiers:
Tiers: Up to 15 | 16–24 | 25–36 | 37–48 | 49–60 | 61–72+ explorers.
Discover who among you has the passion and the skill to succeed on the world’s most challenging archaeological sites. Get your team together, bring your competitive spirit, and prepare for a day of discovery.
