How does the activity run?
How does the activity run?
We offer practice and then timed competition. We don't run head to head races as the equipment is built to be bigger and faster than other vehicles used at other centres. We want you to experience the drive, if you want grand prix, go go-karting instead! With Crossbows we have between two and 6 people shooting at one time dependent on group size and time available. We offer a practice and competition
Do Crossbows require a lot of strength to take part?
Do Crossbows require a lot of strength to take part?
Not necessarily, the bows are you similar in weight to an air rifle or shotgun (3.5KG) and the objective is to keep the bow steady as you squeeze the trigger. In most cases you can rest the bow from your shooting position and we can assist in cocking the bow. Crossbow requires more skill and concentration than just strength.
What is the minimum/maximum group size?
What is the minimum/maximum group size?
There is no minimum group size and up to a maximum group size of 30 people, if your group size is larger than this you will be provided with more time. If you have a group of less than 6 people we reserve the right to mix you with another party.
What day can I book, are you only open at weekends?
What day can I book, are you only open at weekends?
Predominantly we are open on Saturday for group bookings, but do open during the week. Any booking would be subject to availability and group size. Please call to discuss options.
How long does the session last?
How long does the session last?
Each activity slot is dependent on your group size. As a guide, for each activity 1-6 people it will take 30 minutes, 8-10 people 45 minutes and 11-15 people one hour. So Double this time if you are doing 2 activities, triple time for 3 activities and so on. In certain circumstances such as a small group where your health and safety could be at risk from overconfidence, we may reduce this time. Alternatively if you are acting beyond what Max Events, or our instructors deem safe/acceptable, you will be asked to leave the activity. No refunds will apply for misuse of equipment.
How long will I be on site?
How long will I be on site?
This is dependant on the package booked but we ask that you arrive half hour prior to the start of your activities, and you will need at least 15 minutes from when the activities have finished to getting in your car.
Do I need a license? Are there any age, height or weight restrictions?
Do I need a license? Are there any age, height or weight restrictions?
Yes for this activity a driving license is required. Please advise if there are people in the group with no experience. Age 17+ The buggies have plenty of power but if you're over 18 stone (115 Kg) it can be a squeeze to get in and out. It can depend on your build but 18 stone is really the limit. Maximum height for a comfortable drive is 6ft. For crossbows no license is required and there is no requirement specifically on age. You must however be physically able to hold the rifle and crossbow.
Am I insured?
Am I insured?

I have Medical/Physical concerns?
I have Medical/Physical concerns?
Our Crossbow ranges are designed to be used with shooters in a standing upright position. One arm holds/supports the bow, the other hand is used to control the trigger. It is a requirement for a participant to be able to control all these functions. We may in some cases be able to provide a lane for wheelchair users, please call to check. The Honda Pilot off road buggies requirements are that there must be 2 hands on the steering control whilst driving, the emergency kill switch is operated with the left hand. The accelerator and brake are both controlled with the right leg, similar to driving an automatic car. It is a requirement for a rider to be able to control all these functions. For your safety please contact us before your event day if any of your group has any Medical, Physical or Mental conditions or disabilities which might affect them taking part in the activities
Can we operate in any weather?
Can we operate in any weather?
Unfortunately we cannot control the weather. We work very hard to ensure your event runs smoothly and with the required activities in your booking. If we feel we have a health and safety issue we would try and make contact in the week prior to your arrival and offer some alternative suggestions. In extreme circumstances on the day we may have to offer an alternative activity which carries an equal or greater value. Please be aware no refunds will be made if we are open and you cannot make the event, for whatever reason.

Specific clothing and can I wear fancy dress?
Clothing you don't mind getting a bit dirty. Either trainers or walking boots are a must. You must wear shoes that will not fall off, and that cover the whole foot, i.e no flip flops. Yes, so long as it does not have the potential to be caught in any moving parts, does not impair vision, means you are still wearing the correct footwear.
