How does the activity run?
How does the activity run?
We offer practice and then timed competition. We don't run head to head races as the equipment is built to be bigger and faster than other vehicles used at other centres. We want you to experience the drive, if you want grand prix, go go-karting instead! We normally run half of the number of quads for your group size, but dependant on your skill levels can run a minimum of a third of the number of quads for your group size. Powerturns and Argo Kats normally operate with 2 machines for up to 12 people in a group.

There is no minimum group size and up to a maximum group size of 48 people. If you have a group of less than 6 people we reserve the right to mix you with another party.
How long does the session last?
How long does the session last?
Each activity slot is dependent on your group size. As a guide, for each activity 1-6 people it will take 30 minutes, 8-10 people 45 minutes and 11-15 people one hour. So Double this time if you are doing 2 activities, triple time for 3 activities and so on. In certain circumstances such as a small group where your health and safety could be at risk from overconfidence, we may reduce this time. Alternatively if you are acting beyond what Max Events, or our instructors deem safe/acceptable, you will be asked to leave the activity. No refunds will apply for misuse of equipment.

No we are open all week but bookings must be made in advance. Saturday is our busiest day. Any booking would be subject to availability and group size. Please call to discuss options.

This is dependant on the package booked but we ask that you arrive half hour prior to the start of your activities, and you will need at least 15 minutes from when the activities have finished to getting in your car.

No driving license is required, but previous driving experience is preferred, if you have no experience please advise on booking.

No license is required but driving experience is preferred. Please advise if there are people in the group with no experience. Because the package includes buggies the age is 17+
Maximum weight and height
Maximum weight and height
The buggies have plenty of power but if you're over 20 stone it can be a squeeze to get in and out. It can depend on your build but 20 stone is really the limit. Maximum height for a comfortable drive is 6ft6. The Powerturns and Argo Kats are reasonably powerful but are designed for 2 people so a combined maximum of 32 stone or 205 kg. It can take a bit more weight but is a squeeze. The quads have plenty of power but are designed for a maximum of 23 stone or 150 kg.

Max Events carries £5 million public liability insurance. This covers us and you in the event of our negligence subject to the terms and conditions of the policy. By taking part in an activity you are accepting that there are risks, you are provided with all instruction necessary to complete the activity safely, if you choose to ignore our instructions and operate any equipment beyond your ability or the boundaries that we provide then you will not be covered, it does not cover you for acts of stupidity or if an incident arises beyond our control. Please be aware any activity we offer can result in injury or death.

The off road buggies requirements are that there must be 2 hands on the steering wheel whilst driving, the emergency kill switch is operated with the left hand. The accelerator and brake are both controlled with the right leg, similar to driving an automatic car. It is a requirement for a rider to be able to control all these functions. Argo Kats do not require any foot pedal control but do need the use of both hands on the handle bars. The right hand controls a twist grip throttle and handles bars also control the brakes. It is a requirement for a rider to be able to control these functions. Powerturns do not require any foot pedal control but do need the use of both hands on the steering sticks. It is a requirement for a rider to be able to control these functions. It is possible that with 2 people in the machine 1 person can control 1 stick and the 2nd person the other stick. Quad biking does require good balance, one leg either side of the saddle for stability and hands on the steering, the throttle is on the right hand side of the bike, brakes on the left and right, and emergency engine kill switch is on the left hand side of the handle bars. It is a requirement for a rider to be able to control all these functions. For your safety please contact us before your event day if any of your group has any Medical, Physical or Mental conditions or disabilities which might affect them taking part in the activities.

Unfortunately we cannot control the weather. We work very hard to ensure your event runs smoothly and with the required activities in your booking. If we feel we have a health and safety issue we would try and make contact in the week prior to your arrival and offer some alternative suggestions. In extreme circumstances on the day we may have to offer an alternative activity which carries an equal or greater value. Please be aware no refunds will be made if we are open and you cannot make the event, for whatever reason.

Either trainers or walking boots are a must. You must wear shoes that will not fall off, and that cover the whole foot, i.e no flip flops.

All our tracks are outdoors so this is dependent on the weather. Hot and sunny you will get dusty, wet and you will get muddy. We do not provide overalls for each individual person, we do have a range of overalls for sale on the day, prices start at £2.00 and in most cases this is enough to keep you relatively clean.

Yes, so long as it does not have the potential to be caught in any moving parts, does not impair vision, means you are still wearing the correct footwear.
